The Monitoring and Evaluation Practices training helped me increase my knowledge on two types of logic models known as a Theory of Change and a Logical Framework or Logframe. Logic models use a program's goals, outcomes, and activities to help determine whether the program was successful in meeting its intended achievements for participants. Evaluation is important for my internship experience because being able to assess whether the needs of students in our area are being met by the efforts of DeWanna's Closet gauge the success of this organization.

Nonprofit Essentials training was specifically helpful for my internship placement because I am interning at a nonprofit organization. I was able to enhance my knowledge of how a nonprofit organization works. I learned about the basic concepts of nonprofits, how they engage in fundraising opportunities, how organizations acquire donors, and how nonprofits engage in donor stewardship which is a way for nonprofit organizations to show gratitude to a donor and provide them with updates on how their support has impacted the organization. Learning this is an important part of my internship with DeWanna's Closet because they rely on donors to buy supplies and items to meet essential needs of students in their community.

For my first unique artifact, I decided to generate a word search that includes some of the items that DeWanna's Closet provides to students in need in the community along with some words that convey the characteristics held by the volunteers at DeWanna's Closet and other words contributing to their mission.

I have created a poster of Calcasieu Parish and some of its cities. Each red dot in a city represents a K-12 school that receives supplies/uniforms from DeWannas's Closet. There are 9 cities and 60 schools in total that are served in Calcasieu Parish by this organization. I also added some drawings of supplies given to schools and other things that make up Calcasieu Parish. Below is a list of the 9 cities and how many schools are served in each city.
Lake Charles: 27 Schools
Sulphur: 14 Schools
Westlake: 4 Schools
Moss Bluff: 4 Schools
DeQuincy: 4 Schools
Vinton: 3 Schools
Iowa: 2 Schools
Starks: 1 School
Bell City: 1 School
